I decided earlier this week that I was going to continue our game day tradition. I dressed today in my UofM t-shirt that Shawn got me for last years game. Bo of course wore his UofM football jersey and he even got a new football toy to play with during the game. Then for lunch I ordered Chinese take out, went home ate and watched the game. YSU started their game at 2:00 so for about an hour I watched the UofM game on TV and listened to the YSU game on the radio. I have done this all year. Watch UofM on TV and listen to YSU on the radio. It just kind of makes me feel 'normal' because that is what I'm so used to doing on Saturdays. I usually can't wait for the football season to be over. It is a long season and at the end I always missed Shawn because of the long hours that football coach's work. Today I told one of the coach's that I didn't want this season to end. He asked me why. I told him because I always looked forward to the season being over to spend more time with Shawn. However, this year is so different, I already miss Shawn so much, listening to their games was just something that I was hanging onto, something that was still normal for me. He told me that YSU football will be back again next year, and that Shawn and I will always be part of the YSU football family. Like I said yesterday...sweet guys. Here are some pic's of our UofM football game day!
Man Bo can hang onto the ball better than some of the UofM players!

Oh yes ... my mantra this year was "It's a transition year. It's a transition year ..." But that only lasts so long.
Oh, how I wish we could have beat Ohio. :-(
Glad that Bo was there to keep you company.
Jen,
I'm glad you were able to watch the games and remember Shawn today.
Hugs and prayers,
Amanda
gosh, i just freaking hate ohio state. grrrr.
But yay for YSU! Go penguins is right!
Hey - and thanks for the nice comments about the pictures on my site. You must be one of the nicest people out there. You have such a reason to become selfish (not meaning that meanly, but meaning it as you had something so terrible happen and you could just use up all your time for yourself) and yet you always come over and say something nice to me. You rule.
And it took me a minute to figure out what the hell you were talking about in "thanks for telling me that story" when you mentioned the wedding pics. I was like "what story?" and then I remembered. So that's nice you got to see the backstory in something such a great event to know just how special that even really was for many of us. And what it means to you too. :) You make me smile Jen.
Bo is getting cuter and cuter. He's growing so fast though. When I started reading your post, I wondered and hoped that you took pics of little Bo. Glad you enjoyed the games and Chinese.

Hi, I think I have commented before but I just wanted to tell you I have become a loyal follower of your blog. My heart breaks for your loss but you have a very positive outlook on life, It amazes me. Im glad you have your "blogging" as an outlet for you. Football season never has to end in your "heart"! Corny I know but there is always so much football around. I know my husband can find a game on TV any time of year any time of day. God Bless you as you celebrate the Holidays with your family.
Sounds like the two of you had a great time. I love the pictures of Bo.
I did your list of 31 things for my post today. Thanks for the idea.
I love the pics of Bo
Bo is absolutely adorable and I hope he is bringing you much comfort during these difficult days. Shawn would be so proud of you. Much love and blessings to you.
I thought of you as I watched part of the game before leaving to watch the OU Texas Tech game...I was hoping Michigan could pull out a win for you...
what a great way to remember Shawn to day...listening and watching his two teams.
Hope you had a peaceful day watching the games and remembering Shawn.

My husband and I watch the OSU vs. U or M game every year too, but we root for OSU. Needless to say we weren't as disappointed as you.
I read your blog all the time and rarely comment because there are no words good enough, but I hate when people lurk on my blog for long periods of time so I just wanted to let you know I was here.
I pray for you daily and wish that I could take some of your pain away. Hang in there, you are doing so well coping and I admire your strength.
Oh, he is such the cutie pie!! I love love love the U of M stuff!
