WOW I can't believe that the month of November is already half over. So far I've only missed one post in my 30 posts in 30 days. Fifteen more posts to go for the month. Now that I am in the swing of posting everyday maybe I will keep that up. I've told myself that if I post everyday, then maybe they won't be so long. However almost all the last 15 posts have been pretty long so who knows.
Yup, I'm doing it I'm going to give into the pressure. I'm going to start reading the Twilight Saga of books. I've heard and seen so many people reading them I must know that the buzz is all about. When the last book came out in August we were still in Ohio, and went to a bookstore one night, not knowing it was the day that the last book came out and there was a line around the store to get the latest book. That night I saw the cover of the first book. (I sometimes pick a book to read based on what the cover looks like) I thought the cover looked interesting...two hands and an apple. Then I read the back of the book and saw that it was about vampires. I immediately put the book down. I hate anything to do with vampires. When I saw the vampire movie with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt I had bad dreams for weeks. I didn't think any more about reading the books. Even though for the last almost 3 months people have been telling me that these books would be great for me to read to help take my mind off of things. Nope...they are about vampires, not going to happen. I know I'm a chicken!
Then tonight I was at the mall again...shocking! I was in a book store and again was interested by the cover. I picked up the book and read the first few pages in the first chapter. Sounded interesting and got my attention right away. A random lady walked past me and asked if I had read them yet and I told her no I had not. That the whole premise of a story about vampires creepped me out. She got this shocked look on her face and told me to buy the first one and that I wouldn't be able to put it down after the second chapter. Ok, that is about the 50th person that I personally know who have all said the same thing, not to mention everyone in the blogging world who has read the books. So...I decided to buy the first book. While at the check out the lady ringing me up was talking about the books as well. She said they were very intense and had some 'steamy' scenes in them. As soon as I'm done typing this post I'm going to crawl into bed and start reading. We shall see what all the hype is about. I hope people are right, I hate when I spend money on a book and don't like it.
If anybody has read the books please let me know what you think of them. I figure if I like the first one that I will ask for the rest for Christmas.
Alrighty, I'm going to get in to my p.j.'s and start reading...Twilight

I am so jealous! I am also caving in and am going to begin reading Twilight. BUT I forgot to buy it today! So, I will have to catch up.
Enjoy your reading....
You sound just like me. When book shopping, I kept picking up the last book, reading the cover, shudering and setting it down. I don't read or watch horror.
My co-workers talked me into reading the books and I finished them in 2 weeks.
I've been reading about Twilight all over blog land but now you all have my curiosity peaked. Perhaps I should go and investigate if they're available here in South AFrica.
Alright..now i'm gonna have to go out tomorrow and buy the book...i've been putting it off, (scared)...maybe we should do a little book club thing...
I am reading Twilight right now!! In fact I just got back from Starbucks where I was reading away!! I am trying to finish it before Friday when the movie comes out!!
I am just like you, in that I too wasn't interested in reading it because of the whole vampire thing, but my friend Patty begged me to read it, lent me the book so I've been reading it now for a couple of weeks!! I know tons of people read the entire book in one day but I am a slow reader and typically only read before going to be bed so I only get in a few pages before I fall asleep!! Anyways, you're going to love it!! In fact I think I am going to go crawl in bed and read more about Edward and Bella right now!!
I love the idea of a book club!! I say let's do it!!
Night!!
Just picked up the book last week... read it in one night! It's a great book.

You buy books like me, I look at the cover, if it looks good I'll read the back, if it sounds good, I'll get it. Most of the time, I hate the book, so because of that I'm not much of a reader. But, since there's so much talk about Twilight, maybe I'll get it soon and start reading it.
A book club i love that idea, but i think i'm going to have to finsih the Twilight books before reading anything else.
3 words for you all who haven't read Twilight... I LOVE IT!
I read until 1:00 this morning. Then when Bo got up at flippin 5:30, he went back to bed and I read for another hour. It is so good.
I don't think it will take me long to finish the book at all. Maybe I will even go to the movies and see it on Friday when it opens...of course I would have to go by myself because I have no friends here.
Go out and buy the book. So good!!!
I read all 4 books in a week. Laundry went undone. Dishes stacked up. I don't even know how my kids were fed or what they ate. LOVED. THESE. BOOKS.
And - I just bought her other book "Host" which is over 600 pages and finished it in 2 days - in my opinion it was better than the Twilight series. It was SO good. SO GOOD!!!!!
What book did you get. You said the first one. I have seen the cover with the two hands and apples. Is that the last book that is based on the movie coming out. I do not like any thing that will scare me. When I see the commercials on t.v. it looks like a great movie. I have passed this book a lot and wonder if I should read it.
I would love to start a book club. I love to read and now that Alyce goes to bed early I have time to read.
Yeah - I too just read the first book & am addicted.... I'm so excited about the movie... counting down until Friday. You will LOVE IT!!!! Let us know what you think. I'm off to read New Moon now.... Gotta get more Edward in my life!!!
I caved a few weeks ago and am now on book 2:)
Enjoy!!!
I read all four books and loved them, even though, like you, I don't like vampire things. The series was a great distraction to me during a difficult time in my life. I think maybe I'll reread them so I can enjoy them more.
Can you wait until Christmas to read the rest? Good luck with that!

I finally caved this weekend and read Twilight - my crazy obsessed friends got me into it!
And I am thankful they pre-purchased tickets to Friday's showing. :) I was surprised that I am firmly on the Edward Cullen train.
I read all the books this summer. I loved them. There is something really sweet about them. Oh and I didn't beg Jen to read them I said she could borrow them if she wanted to. They've actually made the rounds with several people. I rather she read the Harry Potter Series but she won't budge. That's okay. I guess our differences make us interesting.
And I am in love with Edward just like every other girl is.
The books are soooo good! I cannot believe as a grown woman that I would love books written for young adults!!! I read all 4 in 6 days. I could not sleep because I wanted to read so badly. Already bought tickets for the movie this weekend!! I cannot wait.
Hope you enjoy them and hope they will help take you away from reality for at least a little bit.

Twilight is AMAZING!! You will be hooked, I guarantee it!!
Let us know what you think :)
I've read the first one so far, after being bugged by my friends and sis-in-law and I am definitely hooked!! But I'm a little cheap, so I borrow them from the library, and sometimes there is a bit of a waiting list. So I'm waiting on book two, should get it sometime this week. :)
For some brainless reading, the Confessions of a Shopaholic series are really fun. And with your love of shopping I bet you would get a kick out of them. I say get the first book and you will be hooked!
I'm caving, too. Too many of my friends are reading them. LOL
I am reading Twilight right now and love it!! I norm. don't like vampire books.
I too tried to fight the hype. I finally gave in.
I read 1200 pages last week. My life has become obsessed with Edward. My poor poor husband can't get away from it. I even hung a poster on my side of the bed ;)
You will LOVE it!
I LOVED Twilight...so much that I ran right out and bought the rest of the series. But I'm sad because I can't get in to the second one...kind of hard to get sucked in to....I'll let you know how it goes as I read more of it!
