I know I'm behind the craze here, ok, I'm guessing I'm way behind the craze. However, the last few days I've been thinking I want to try and read the entire Twilight Series. I keep seeing the previews for New Moon and I think it looks good, but I refuse to watch the movie before I read the book.
Right before Thanksgiving last year I read
I didn't think I was going to like it, I really just read it because of all the hype it was receiving. Much to my surprise I loved it. I think I read the entire book in about three days. I could not put it down. I stayed up two nights in a row to almost 3:00 reading it. In fact even before I was finished with Twilight I went out and bought
I was so excited to start reading the second book in the Twilight series. However, I had a problem. I tried and tried but I couldn't get past the first 100 pages of New Moon. It was just so darn boring. So I put it on my night stand and didn't really think much of it. Well, the last several weeks with all the hype around the New Moon movie I have started wondering if I should give this book another shot. What do you all think? Should I or shouldn't I? I've been told by a few different people that this book is by far the worst of the series, and that the last two are even better than Twilight was. For those of you who have read the books do you agree? A few people have told me that as soon as you get to the half way point in New Moon it does pick up the pace a little. So should I or shouldn't I give New Moon another chance?I'm leaning to yes. After all don't most things deserve a second chance? I have lots and lots of other books I could be reading, but something is telling me to give it a shot. Plus, last year after I loved Twilight so much I went out and bought

Definitely give New Moon a second try. It really introduces Jacob. It is by far the slowest of all 4 books, but definitely worth it!! :)

Oh yes you should give it a try. It is slow... but it does get better!!!! I had more problems with the last book though.
YES!! I thought Eclipse was kind of slow too but they were sooooooo worth it to get to Breaking Dawn! That one is the best of all!!!
I love to read, do you have any favorites you like? Personally,I love Nicholas Sparks. Just finished his new one. Awesome.

You should really read it. I just jumped on the Twilight wagon and read the first 3 books within 4 days. I have to read the last one but have been busy since my MIL is in town but I think my husband will really love it when I am done reading the last book because he feels neglected haha. I watched Twilight and didn't really like it but I watched New Moon a few days ago and really liked it!

I agree that New Moon is the slowest of the series, but it contains vital information to what I think is an amazing set of books. I say read it...by the time you get to the end, you'll wanna run out and buy the next one..I think I read all 4 in 5 weeks..couldn't put them down either!!!
I was with you, New Moon was a bit of a let down. (The movie is GREAT!)But, it is necessary to get to the last two books, which are really great. Go for it, I say! :)
I have no comment, as I'm pretty sure I'm the only person in the whole world who has not read one single word of the twilight series. However, maybe if you read them all, then you can tell me if I should read them!

That is so funny to me!! My sister talked me into reading the series about a month ago. Like you, I was holding out, thinking it was a teen's book, and something I wouldn't be interested in. And, like you, I stayed up waaaay too late reading them!! I agree that New Moon is the worst of the series, but you just have to get through it, the last half of the book is way better than the first. I am a Twilight virgin, I haven't seen the movie yet, going to watch it this weekend.
And here I was thinking I was the last person on earth to read these books! ;)
It picks up, and by the time you get into the 3rd book , you won't want to wait to find out what happens in book 4.
Please try to read New Moon again. I do agree that most of it was boring! I do agree that the last two books are even better than Twilight!!!!! If you can believe it...:)
I saw New Moon Thanksgiving afternoon and I loved it! When we walked out of the theater I said, "is it June yet?" That's when the next one is released! Yippee..
The Twilight series is so good...I just wish it continued on and on!
