Great Weekend! #8

Boy oh boy did I have a good weekend! Very busy but good.

Friday night was nice and relaxing. I didn't really do anything and I think I was in my p.j's by 8:00. Then I pretty much sat around and watched some TV and read magazines. It was actually really nice to have a night like that. I have been gone so much lately that it felt good just to sit and relax for a night. While I was watching TV I just happened to see an Old Navy commercial, and they were having major sales. So, my sister and I decided to get to the store right at 9:00 when they opened so we wouldn't miss any of the good deals.

Saturday my alarm went off and I literally rolled out of bed, put on a t-shirt,yoga pants, a little make-up, put my hair in a clip, and brushed my teeth and we were out the door. Other people had the same idea we did, there was about 6 cars waiting in the parking lots as we pulled in. I'm telling you Old Navy was having some amazing deals and if you had a credit card you got an extra 30% off of your entire purchase. I really was only going for a few specific things, but walked out with lots more than I was expecting. However, I only got three shirts for me, all the rest were gifts. My bill was $178.00 but with all the sales and discounts my bill only ended up being $119.00. Can we say HOLY GOOD DEALS!!

After we were done at Old Navy we decided to make a pit stop at the local apple orchard. I just love the smell of fresh apple cider. We walked around the gift shop for a while and found a few yummy treats to eat. I got...... fresh baked apple cider and cinnamon doughnuts. They were yummy in my tummy! We also got
fresh Carmel apples. Oh goodness were they good. I can't wait to eat my last half here in a little while.

After we got home I ate a quick lunch and then decided to take a little nap. Only it ended up not being so little as I slept for almost an hour and half. I decided to go with the philosophy of well I needed it that's why I slept for so long. After my nap, I got in the shower and then went to Walmart for a few odds and ends that I needed for the week. Then my friend was having a candle party so I stopped by her house. I have never smelled so many wonderful scents in my life. I love Yankee candles but these blew Yankee out of the water. So, I just had to get some. I got the following scents, Satin sheet, Apple Cider, and Coconut Palm. I can't wait to get them, my room is going to be smelling wonderful. After the candle party it was time to come home and relax after a long day of being gone shopping.

Today was tons of fun. Some friends and I decided to take a day trip to Frankenmouth, Michigan. Have any of you ever been there? It is the home of the worlds largest Christmas store Bronners Christmas Wonderland. I'm not talking a small store either, when I say largest, I'm not lying...it has been documented as the worlds largest Christmas store. People come from all over the world just to go to Bronners. There is every type of ornament you can think of from Zebra's to Betty Boop and everything in between. Here is the link if you would like to check it out http://www.bronners.com/. They also ship ornaments and any Christmas decoration you can think of any where in the world.

Anyways we left at 11:00 this morning and spent the entire day there, arriving back home around 7:00 tonight. We had a GREAT time. Before we did any shopping we ate lunch at Zenders Family Restaurant. They are famous for their fried chicken and home made pasta dinners. It was seriously some of the best food I have ever eaten. The chicken melted in your mouth and I won't even get started on their bread.

After we ate we decided to hit the shops. We went to this one store that sold Ed Hardy t-shirts. They were so cool and I almost got one, but then I decided it was probably not the best time of the year to be spending $75 on a t-shirt, even though it was extremely cool looking. Wait, is there ever a good time to be spending $75 on a t-shirt? Uhm, I think not! Have you ever heard of the Tatoo t-shirts? Well, the first time I saw them was this summer in Chicago and they were really cool looking. The one I saw had angel wings on it and I fell in love with it. However, it was over $100 and I just was not going to pay that much money for a shirt. Guess what I found at a particular store today....Yup, an angel wing tatoo t-shirt!! And it was on sale!!!! Score for Coin!!! I was so excited. You can't really tell in the picture but the wings are on the back of the shirt and I was told by my friends that it looked really cool on. I can't wait to wear it.

We kept on shopping going in and out of all the stores in downtown Frankenmouth. We could not have asked for a better day. It was sunny and in the upper 60's...what a great day to spend walking around outside. We shopped the stores for about two hours and then decided to head to Bronners. You all would be really proud of me. I only bought the t-shirt, oh and some three bags of popcorn and the specialty popcorn store. I have never been to a store where there were so many different flavors of popcorn. There was popcorn in every flavor imaginable. I got a bag of dill pickle flavor, Salt and Vinegar and of course a bag of Carmel corn. That was all I got all day. I was rather proud of myself.

After we got done in the little shops we hit Bronners. We were in there for hours walking around looking at all the Christmas ornaments. We also did our fair share of people watching there. I'm telling you can sit on a bench and see all kinds of people, and when I say all kinds, I mean it. One time I even laughed out loud. There was a group of three boys all dressed up Goth like, with the pale faces, huge dark clothes, crazy spiked hair, piercings galore, and wearing chains on their pants. Well walking right behind them was a group of three Nuns, all of different ethnic backgrounds walking through he store holding hands. It was funny to see the group of Goth boys walking right in front of the Nuns. The expression on the Nun's faces was too funny!

After being gone for seven hours we decided it was time to head for home. We had a great car ride back and lots and lots of laughs. We also each decided to dig into for different flavors of popcorn. I was eating my bag of Carmel corn, one was eating Salt and Vinegar, one was eating Chocolate and the other was eating a bag of Peanut Butter pop corn. We had quite the popcorn experience going on.

I had a great weekend spent with great friends! The weather could not have been any better!!

So happy you had fun - you deserve it! Wish we lived closer; I think we'd be good shopping buddies! Ha!

Have a good week!

Sounds like you had a great time! Love your blog, I've been following for a while. Where we live in the great white north, we only have a grocery store, so I'll shop vicariously through you!

Thanks for sharing through your blog!

Bronner's is awesome. I took my little sister from Big Brothers/Big Sisters there a few months ago and couldn't believe how much bigger it was than the last time I had been there. (Which was like 20 years ago, so I guess I shouldn't have been surprised)

Glad you had a great weekend!

Do you know that I have been to Bronner's one time, and I totally hated it! I think that makes me a bad person!

I totally got some steals at Old Navy too, I did all my shopping online though. I got fleeces for all my nieces and nephews for Christmas for $7/each! Wooohooo!
