Quick Update

No I haven't forgotten about my blog. To be honest I have just been really really busy since arriving in Youngstown. I got into town a week ago today and have been going non-stop since arriving.

The first two days I watched my friend Jennie's two little boys so they wouldn't have to go to daycare. Saturday afternoon was her middle son's 3rd birthday party. Saturday morning "T" and I went for a really long walk before the party. Things at Jennie's house are a little on the crazy side so I was always busy doing something there, mainly goofing around with her and playing with her 3 little boys.

Sunday I made my way to my friend Lora's house and have been here since. Sunday night we had a great dinner with some of her family and friends. Then on Monday we began car shopping some more. Lora, her little boy Luca and myself arrived at the car dealer a little after 1:30, we left the dealership around 5:00. During that time I test drove several cars and talked and talked and talked financing some more. We went home and talked about what car I should buy. It was a really big decision and I wanted to make sure I made the right choice for me. Tuesday morning Lora and Luca went to preschool and I stayed home and called my insurance company to see how much my insurance would go up if I were to buy a new car. Want to hear something funny? Buying a new car my insurance would actually be a little bit cheaper than what I am paying for my car insurance right now on an older car. They told me because newer cars have more safety features. After thinking long and hard about my choices I finally made up my mind.

Tuesday afternoon Lora, Luca and I made our way back to the dealership to buy my new car.YIKES!!! We arrived right at 2:00 did some of the paperwork and then had to leave for a few hours until the car and other paperwork would be ready. So we went to get haircuts and do a few little things around town. We arrived back at the dealership around 4:00 so I could finish filling out the paperwork. Lora was with me when I was signing and filling out the check. She looked at me and told me she thought she was going to cry. I asked her why and she told me that she was just so proud of me for buying my own brand new car. She went on to say that she knows that Shawn would be so very proud of me as well. With that we both sat in the sales office and shared a few tears. Lora is right...Shawn would be very proud of me for buying a brand new car with all the bells and extra safety features. He would be proud of me for buying a car that I wanted and now need. Then at 5:23 I drove off of the car lot in my brand new 2009 Saturn Vue. (Lora took lots of pictures and I will post those in an upcoming post)

After spending all afternoon at the dealership Lora, Luca and I went out to eat for dinner and then went shopping. Like I need to spend more money. We went to Kohl's and I got a dress to wear to a wedding that I'm going to with "T" in a few weeks. Today Lora and I went to the gym and worked out. It felt really good to work out with a friend. After we worked out we went to the mall. I had to get a new necklace. The one I wear with Shawn's fingerprint broke and I could not go another day without wearing it.

Tomorrow I will be watching Luca all day while Lora goes to an all day business meeting. I imagine the two of us will have a fun filled day. Friday I will be at Lora's again and we are going to work out again and who knows what else we will find to do. For the weekend I will be returning to Jennie's house and spending time with her and her family until I leave Monday morning.

I just wanted to tell you all that I did NOT forget about you or my blog, I just have been very busy and having lots of fun with my friends and their little boys. I hope I will find some time in the next few days to update again and this will be the post where I talk more about my brand new car. I still can't believe I am the owner of a brand new 2009 Saturn Vue.

More to come soon. Thanks for understanding while I was away.

I am proud of you too! It is very stressful to make such a big decision on your own and you did it! With each big decision, you will get stronger. I can't wait to see pictures of the new car!

How exciting for you to get a brand new car...all on your own. I know that your DH would be very proud of you and he is probably smiling down and thinking to himself that you are doing just fine. I can't wait to see your new wheels. I am sure it is nice and I am sure you are enjoying it as much as you are with your friends there in Youngstown. Great to hear from you. Enjoy the rest of your time.

Hugs,
Lisa
