Bo is now almost 9 months old. He is still very much a puppy but is getting so much better in other areas. He no longer tries to eat your toes or pull on your pant legs, that was getting oh so old. Almost all of my yoga pants have little holes in them from his sharp teeth. We are still working on sitting, staying, and coming. He does well with sit, but come and stay still need some practise. He is totally house broke and has been for some time. (Well when he isn't on a steroid...more about that in a few) Last month Bo and I went for another round of puppy school and the guy was AMAZING. So much better than the first round. We went to a guy who is like the Dog Whisper, no really I swear, this guy is wonderful with dogs and their owners and really tries to get to the root of the problem behavior and deal with it that way. During the month I learned many new things on how to handle Bo. He told me that many will come with time as Bo gets older. It was a great class and I can't wait to go back in the Fall. All in all Bo's crazy behavior is improving as he gets older, we still have things to work on, but I guess what puppy doesn't and I'm sure most of that will come with time and more practise. I also must admit that Bo still sleeps with me in my bed. Most of the night he lays on top of the covers, but when he wants to get under he will come up and paw at my shoulder for me to let him under the blankets. At first I didn't want him sleeping with me, but I actually don't mind now. He starts off in his crate and then around 1:00-2:00 he will jump in bed with me. Oh well could be worse I suppose!
Bo has also started going to Puppy Camp one day a week. Yes, you read it right, I said Puppy Camp. It is really like a daycare where you would take a child. The same guy who we took Puppy class from owns it and it is great for the dogs. There are 3 different playgrounds for the different size dogs. They take them swimming, on walks, and roller blading. Some dogs go every day while others go a few times a week. Bo totally loves it and comes home so so tired. When we walk in the door he jumps on the couch and pretty much stays there all day. Get this, when it rains or is too hot for the dogs they even have 2 indoor play areas with climbing structures for the dogs. The place is great, you should look into it where you live.
bubbles. I wondered what he would do with them so yesterday my mom blew bubbles and Bo just chased them around the yard. He even caught a few in his mouth while waking on his hind legs. He has talent!
It's so hot out here!
"I did nothing wrong and I don't want my picture taken" Oh well!!
This picture just cracks me up.
Chewing on one of his favorite things...rawhides
So sleepy after a long day of playing.
Ok, I'm almost done talking about my dog, I promise, but first I have a quick question for those of you who have dogs or those of you who have Boston Terriers. Does any of your dogs have allergies? If so what do you do for them?
I ask because about a month ago Bo started having a runny nose, watery eyes and started doing this god awful sneeze type thing, that is called a reverse sneeze. It sounds like he is having an asthma attack. I took him to the vet and was told that he has seasonal allergies. He was put on a month's supply of allergy medicine. He just stopped taking it on Tuesday. Then last week I noticed his chin was starting to break out and get all red. I thought it was just from him chewing on his rawhides. Then one day he was in the bathroom with me and I noticed there was blood all over the floor. He has itched his skin so much that he broke open the skin. I gave it a closer look and realized it looked like it was infected. Off to the vet we went again. The vet said he has Moist Dermatitis. A skin allergy that can stem from a variety of things. We left the office with an antibiotic and anti-itch spray. After two days it was only getting a little better and poor Bo was still scratching under his chin. I talked to the vet again and she gave him a prescription for the steroid Prednisone which was to help take away the itch and inflammation of his skin. Only problem this medicine makes him pee all of the time and has had a few accidents this week. Poor puppy. I'm not even joking last week Bo was on 4 different types of medicine for his allergies. Who would have thought a dog with both skin and seasonal allergies! I swear it's just my luck to have a dog with 'special needs' Anyways he is doing better this week. His chin has healed nicely and he is even back to chewing on his rawhides. He wasn't happy with me when I had to take them away to let his chin heal.
Well there you have it. A LONG post all about Bo!
Oh- I'm loving reading a bunch of new blogs. I will be adding your blog to my blog roll shortly and commenting soon.

Hes so cute! The one of him kinda rolling his eyes is so funny! Ellie gets allergies too.. try giving him a little childrens benadryl. Call your vet for the dosage.. I can't remember how much we gave Ellie.
Bo is so cute! I am so glad you shared pictures!
My older dog has skin issues - she bites on her little front leg on a daily basis. Benadryl seems to help!
If it makes you feel better, one of my dogs just learned to shake. She is 10 years old! So you can teach an old dog new tricks. :)
My Dachshund does the reverse sneeze when she's scared. First time she did it, it scared the bajeebus out of me.
I was going to also suggest Benedryl, but I see others have suggested it. Your vet will know the dose for you to give. The best part of Benedryl is that it calms the little puppers right now. :)
Our other dog (who is black & white like your Bo, but he's a Lab Mix) itches quite a bit at time and when it gets really bad .. we give him benedryl. He goes to sleep! :o)
My SIL has a Boston Terrier that looks exactly like your Bo, and yes he has allergies also. She actually takes him in and he gets (whispering so Bo won't hear: shots, shhh) LOL Does Bo snore? Her dog almost rattles the windows.ha!
What a cute boy! Our vet gave us a list of OTC people meds we could give our dogs when needed. Mackey gets pretty itchy and Steve gets red toes & the sneezes, but I honestly haven't tried any of the meds other than Benadryl yet.
He is handsome, very sweet looking. Alek and I love our to hairy friends too. I have two goldendoodles Cash and Hank. I like your get to know your blogger readers idea. I will have to go back and answer the questions. I am just catching up.
I do however share the fact we lost our husbands with you and my favorite color is blue.......
Stay strong!!
Poor Bo! That's is sure a lot of allergies for him to get and at once. I have a dog with seasonal allergies too and from the looks of it a lot of people's dogs have allergies. Everyone already gave suggestions so I'll just sympathize.
Hope Bo gets feeling all better soon.
I have a Boston, named Belle, and she does not have allergies or skin problems. She does, however, snore, licks everything (including my freshly lotioned legs), sneezes with lil dog snot flying (only "cute" outside...) and loves to sleep with me. When she flops down she lets out the loudest sigh - it really is adorable! Hopefully you can get both the skin irritation and alleriges under control - NO FUN! Oh - our Boston is almost 6...and is still very much a puppy :)
Our oldest dog has that reverse sneeze you are seeing-when she first started doing it, I thought she had choked on something and was dying-it sounded that scary. She also gets the red chin and sneezes constantly. We don't really know what she is allergic to, so we just give her allergy pills as needed.
He is so cute. Alyce and I loved the pictures. Thanks for welcoming us back.
Poor Bo. We gave our dogs childrens benadryl too. That sould help with the itching. You can also try Vitamin E/Fish oil supplements that helps with the skin and keeps it from itching.
Bo is cute! I like the one of him rolling his eyes, too funny.
Mom's cat has allergies & we figured out that what the vet prescribed was just 1/2 a Clortab (brand name is Clortrimeton). It's a good one for daytime because it doesn't make him sleepy. Though, that would be hard to tell with a cat!
I love looking at pics of Bostons, even if they are mine! Bo has gotten to be so handsome! As far as the allergies so, yeah Jade has them. Luckily hers aren't bad at all so we only have to give her benadryl on occasion. The "reverse sneezing" thing is something that most Bostons do. I have found that when Jade starts doing it she works herself up and can't stop. It typically helps if I can calm her down and rub her throat in a downwards motion to help relax the spasm.
we have a family of bostons too. :) Mybros is allerigic everything and after many treatments of different meds he was allergy tested and now gets allergy shots! He is allegic to grass and house flies! random I know. other things too but dont remember what.
Bo is so cute! I have 2 Westies, Max and Sadie. They love their kongs. My pups love bananas so what I do is mush up a banana to stuff in the kong then freeze the kong and once frozen I give them their kongs and they love licking away at the banana.
You may know this already, but do not give Bo any grapes or raisins. If they do eat those they can go into kidney failure. There is alot of nutrious 'human' food dogs can have, but there are a few items that can make them sick and very ill-sometimes fatal. I just wanted to pass along that information in case you haven't read about it yet. Dogs are wonderful pets; our pups are treated like family:0)
I don't have a blog, but if you want to e-mail me my e-mail is:

I had just left a comment about Bo and I have 2 Westies.
My best friend had 2 Boston Terriers, but about a year ago the younger one had gone to heaven. They are such great dogs:))
OH MY GOSH, he is ADORABLE!!!! Definitely one of the cutest little things I've ever seen. Makes me even more excited to get our little guy!
Bo, you little googly eyed devil! I'll be seeing you soon. Maybe you won't be on any antibiotics this time. I have a new little friend for you to play with. His name is lokie. He's a rottweiler puppy. But, you're not allowed to teach him to bark. He's quiet!.....Oh yeah, Hi Coin! lol
I love his big eyes! So cute.
I had a dog with allergies and I had to get her allergy shots at the vet once every 3 months, I don't remember what they were though. I also washed her with oatmeal dog shampoo to help her skin.
I can't believe how big he is getting! Thankfully, I have no idea about dogs and allergies, but I wish you two well! I hope Bo starts feeling better soon!
He is adorable. I love the doggy daycare or the camp. It sounds awesome. And I wished so bad we could have had a dog whisperer type person meet with us about our dog, but in the end we had to give her away. She was an insane crazy dog. I have given previous dog children's benadryl.
Bo is adorable!! Cute pictures!
About the allergies... my lab has an allergy to beef...it doesn't make him react quite the same way..instead he gets itchy skin and sheds ALOT...so we switched his food from beef to lamb. Seemed to do the trick. What are you feeding Bo? Also, I used to work at a petstore and they have special food for dogs with allergies. I believe it is called Wellness and there might even be another brand. It's at Soldans in that plaza on the corner of Eastman and Saginaw. Hope you find something that helps!!
You may already follow Matt's blog, but I thought about you when I read his latest post.

I know you're busy, but HOW did you get him completely house broken?! One of our Bostons is 10 months old. We've had her for almost 6 months and she'll still go in the house if she's had too much to drink. Any tips? Thanks!
Bo is so cute, I bet he can get away with trouble :)
My Nana used to tell me to put an egg in my dogs food, good for their skin. She actually bred Bostons for years! (raw egg does not sound safe to me but she did it with all of her dogs)
Good luck!
I like the post about Bo. I have two dogs, Laya and Libby. They are my babies. Bo is so cute. He has a sweet face and sounds like he is lots of fun. Dogs sure keep you busy!! Luckily my dogs have not had any major alergies/skin alergies. It is probably worse for Bo because he is so close to the ground.
