Mexico Part 2!!!

Have I kept you all in suspense long enough? Are you ready to hear about part 2 of my Mexico trip? Before I get to the pictures I have been asked a few questions about Mexico so, I figured I would answer those first.

1. The weather was absolutely 100% perfect. We really could not have asked for better weather. Every single day was bright sunny blue sky and the temperature was between 85-90. There was only one day that was "partly" cloudy, but that was actually the day we all got sun burned, go figure that one.

2. Did I feel safe there. In one word...YES! Our resort was in a gated community with about 10 other resorts. Our room was on the ground level over looking the pool and ocean. We felt so safe that every night we slept with our sliding glass door opened. One night we did leave and to into the old part of town, and that did get a little dicey, but at no point did I fear for my life.

3. Are you planning on doing another trip next year? YES!!! The three of us have already talked about Widow's Gone Wild 2011. We have even started talking about where we want to go. We hope to narrow down our choices in the next three to four months and then book the trip in about six months. We can not wait to share this experience with each other again.

4. Did I go shopping there? Uhm, yeah, of course I did, remember to who you are talking too. I ended up buying tons of stuff for my family, friends, Mr X and the kids. However, it was okay because it was so cheap down there. I think all together I only spent around $300.00 and I came home with tons of stuff for people.

Now for the rest of this trip...

After the three of us came down from the thrill of para sailing we decided just to have a nice relaxing day. For the remainder of the day we sat in our chairs down by the ocean. I think we all each fell asleep in our chair for over an hour. We also took time to enjoy some yummy food and of course a few drinks. We also played in the ocean for a while. And by "playing" I really mean playing. You should have seen the three of us, we were jumping up and down in the waves like little kids, and it was so much fun. There were many times when we were all jumping and laughing hysterically at the same time. It was. so. much. fun!!
Patty and I playing in the waves.

The night we para sailed the three of us decided to get a little crazy. We usually left the beach around 5:00 at night and all got our showers and then would go eat dinner as a "family". Then after dinner we would all split up and do whatever we each wanted to do in the resort. However, this particular night Patty, Shirley, and I decided to stay down at the beach a little longer. Before we knew it we were the only ones on the beach and we were seriously having the time of our lives. We were laughing, talking and carrying on like crazy. This was before we had even started drinking for the night, we were just having a wonderful time. Then before we knew it our waiter was bringing the three of us shots to do. He said we needed to do shots because we were in Mexico and needed to experience it. So we decided to throw caution to the wind and we all ended up doing a few different shots. For three ladies who don't do shots, lets just say our fun night got a little bit funner after that. (not sure funner is a word, but I'm sticking with it) Finally, around 8:00 we decided to come in from the beach. We all tried really hard to go to dinner with all the kids, but well, we just did not make it. Instead all of the kids went to dinner and Patty, Shirley and I crashed in our room and ordered room service. The rest of the night the three of us just sat there talking, eating, and laughing. There may or may not have been more drinking going on...I just don't remember. :)

This is one of my favorite pictures of the entire trip. It was so much fun to play in the waves in our little polka dotted tubes.

The three of us decided to name this picture, "Embracing the Day!" On this particular day we decided to wear our shirts down to the beach. Nobody said anything to us, but we got several looks as we walked by. However, as the day went on we all talked a lot about our husbands and about how proud we thought they would all be of us for going on this trip and for being there for each other. We talked about how hard life has been since the days our husbands died, but that we have decided to live, and that through it all we have came out okay, and are doing our best to be happy. We also talked about why and how things happen and happen for a reason, we decided that we are all pretty sure our husbands are the ones who brought the three of us together.

On Thursday was a total highlight of the trip. This was the day we got to swim with the dolphins. I was so excited for this I about could not stand myself. The experience was everything I thought it would be plus more!! We got to jump in the tank with the dolphins, swim with them, kiss them, feed them and then watch the dolphins do tricks around us. It was truly amazing and an experience I will never forget....
Patty, Shirley, myself and Nicole with "our" dolphin Sadie.

Kiss from Sadie.

Love this picture!

Time for a hug!
Sadie taking me for a ride. If you ever get the chance to swim with the dolphin's please do this. It was well worth the money for the wonderful experience of it.

Nicole and I one night out on the town goofing around with somrero's.

The gorgeous sunset on our last night in Paradise.

Another one of my favorite pictures of the entire trip. Nicole and I posing on the hand rail going to the pool.
Nicole, Shirley and I having a fun night out.

Okay, there is a funny story to go with this one. One night Patty, Nicole and I were walking from the restaurant one night to the bathroom. Patty and I had each had just a few drinks and were starting to get a little giggly. (earlier in the day we had said that we wanted to play ping pong, but every time we went to get the paddles they were being used.) Anyways on our way to the bathroom we had to walk past the ping pong table. All of a sudden both Patty and I said, "Oh look, now we can play ping ping" Yes, we said ping ping, instead of ping pong. Okay, maybe it isn't funny at all reading it, maybe it was just one of those moments were you had to be there. I tell you, the three of us about peed our pants laughing so hard about our ping ping game.

Our family picture.

Shirley, Patty, our waiter (a.k.a: shot boy) and myself. Yes, this was our waiter Juan. He was our waiter every afternoon on the beach and by the middle of the week he knew what we each were drinking and took it upon himself to make sure our cups were never empty. He was also the one who "made" the three of us do tequila shots. By the end of the week he was call us his shot girls and we were calling him our shot boy. Oh hey...funny story here. The last night here Juan asked me to go out to a movie with him. I told him thank you but that I couldn't do that because I had a great boyfriend back home. He told me to tell my boyfriend that he was a very lucky guy. We all laughed at the fact that I got asked out by our 18 year old waiter.

The three of us at sunset our last night. We just stood down at the beach before dinner talking about how amazing the week had been and about how the three of us had bonded during the week.
Widows Gone Wild 2010 written in the sand at sunset our last night.

This was a trip I will NEVER EVER forget in my entire life. Patty, Shirley and I formed a bond on this trip that will never be broken. We experienced things with each other that we never would have done alone. We came together as one big family for the entire week and that was amazing as well. It was so nice to just sit and chill out for the entire week. I can safely say that since Shawn has died this was the best week of my life. I am so blessed to have these ladies in my life and I'm so grateful that we all got to share in this trip and in this experience together. We were brought together after the death of our husbands. We have been there on the best of days and on the worst of days for each other. We have cried together and have laughed together. We have lived through the last twenty months of each others lives together. We have formed a bond that will last a life time. We are widows who in the hardest time in our life have decided to embrace life and live it the best way that we can! And we can't wait until next year.
